1. Agreement to Terms

At North Point Driving Academy, herein knows as ‘NPDA’, ‘School ‘or ‘Academy ‘is committed to ensure the satisfaction and understanding of our Terms and Conditions Policy Revision Number NPSP01. This policy outlines the school policy on terms how business interactions are conducted by the School Management and School Client’s, herein known as ‘Student’, ‘Customer’ ‘or’ Applicant’. Corporate contracts and packages are not governed by the below School Policies and all such queries to be redirected at School Management. By enrolling in lessons at NPDA, Customer agree to read the full policy and faithfully abide by these terms and conditions.

2. Lesson Scheduling and Duration

  • Each practical lesson is 60-90 minutes duration depending on package (50-80 minutes practical training and the last 10 minutes will be used for the Briefing and Theory). Last 10 minutes Briefing and Theory is mandatory for student progress.

  • Lessons must be scheduled in advance and are subject to availability.

  • One instructor and only one student driver (total 2 persons) can sit inside the car during a driving lesson.

  • Packages that have car for Road test and warm up in-built with their lesson purchased advance, will have a Free Pickup within City limit, 30 min of warmup prior to Road test and 1 hour of Road test for Completion after which Client will be dropped off within City limits.

  • Packages with no Car for road test, will be charged $100 for 30 min Warm up and Car Rental with Pickup & Drop off.

3. Student Responsibilities

  • Students are required to present a valid BC driver’s license at the start of each lesson and must carry it during lessons.

  • Students must adhere to the Rules of Conduct and avoid the use of Foul language, Harassment, Racial Comments, aggressiveness or abusive behavior in any manner

  • Students are expected to be sober and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs during lessons.

  • Students under no reason shall force/ demand Instructor to teach only the Exam Route or ask help from the School/Instructor to disrupt the relation with ICBC, by Compelling to follow a Road test vehicle or to practice in ICBC parking lot at their working hours. This is Strictly against ICBC’s Code of Conduct under Section 6.1

  • Student shall under no means Bribe/Compel/Threat the instructor to break the conditions and Code provided under the Code of Conduct of ICBC

  • Student Shall not carry any fake license both Canadian/ International while Practicing lessons with the instructor. Failing to comply can result in lesson cancellation and will be charged for the whole lesson

  • If student would like to complaint the Results of a Road test, ICBC should be contacted straight. If the Student needs assistance by the school, this can be arranged after a written consent form to school as required by ICBC for review under Section 8.1 of Code of Conduct.

4. Instructor Responsibilities

  • If instructor arrives late, the lesson will either commence with the student’s permission or be rescheduled at no additional cost.

  • Instructors are committed to provide quality; comprehensive driving Coaching tailored to each student’s needs.

  • Instructor Should always follow Code of Conduct Issued by ICBC, A copy of the Code of conduct can be emailed to student upon request for review. Or an online Copy of the Conduct is available in ICBC website https://partners.icbc.com/assets/4ioApQ4IKcaLRfT1IKcQwy/dtc410.pdf

  • Instructor and School will protect the privacy of customers and safeguard any customer records they possess or control in accordance with any applicable privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

  • Instructor shall ensure the vehicle for training is Clean and Mechanically fit for the lesson and safe for the Client and Road

  • Instructor shall not run personal Errands/Phone calls while in a paid lesson time unless a Student/ Family Emergency forces to make the safest course of action. In such a case of loss of paid lesson time of more than 10 minutes, Lesson will be rebooked at student convenience with no additional charge for student

5. School’s Rights

  • NPDA reserves the right to cancel lessons due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., instructor illness, vehicle issues, weather conditions). Lessons will be rescheduled at the student’s convenience with no extra charge

  • The school may terminate lessons without a refund if a student is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or engages in unacceptable behavior.

  • Any reason to cancel a road test appointment booked by the school for a client should be informed within 72 hours prior, otherwise, a penalty of $25.00 will be charged by ICBC.

  • Rent-a-car for road test Class 4,5/7: If any accident happens during the road test, the student has liability to pay for any damage cost, he/she is at fault or not, to the car owner.

6. Payment Terms

  • Lessons must be paid in advance and full or can avail for the payment plan, which is agreed upon terms of the school management

  • Accepted payment methods include Mastercard, Visa, Interac, E-Transfer, or in-person payments.

7. Use of Vehicle

The driving school vehicle is available for road Tests use only and for those students who complete 6 or more lesson. Please be aware that passing the Mock Test at least 72 hours before road test guarantees the use of driving school vehicle for road test. If a student fails a Mock Test, the school reserves the right to refuse the use of driving school vehicle for the road test.

8. Amendment of Terms

North point Driving Academy reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.
